Learn to Swim

As many of you may have gathered from the news, pools will now be under strict new protocols from the government and our governing body Swim England, in order to keep both our swimmers and our staff as safe as we possibly can. This means that we have had to make some major changes to the way Eweswim will run. Some decisions have been very difficult and under much discussion, due to the reduced number of sessions we will have to unfortunately increase the price of swimming across all activities. Although we hate to make this increase at this time, Eweswim will have to remain viable for us to be able to continue to keep it running. Our timetable has also had to have an extensive overhaul to allow for extra cleaning and social distancing during changeovers. With these changes in mind we have decided to start again from scratch with bookings. At the end of this message you will find a link to an online form please read all the information before filling in the form. The form MUST be filled out by anyone wishing to return to swimming with us, the form includes additional information we will need from you for tracing purposes. We will be asking you to tell us your preferred day and time, but please note filling in the form is not confirmation of booking but of interest and a member of the team will be in touch to then confirm your place and time. We realise this is a lot of information but we are confident we can all work together to keep everyone safe. General Information Please use hand sanitiser provided on entry and exit at each door. If your child or anyone they have been in contact with is unwell or has any symptoms please DO NOT bring them or their siblings to swimming. If the swimmer or anyone in their household has tested positive to Covid-19 in the last seven days please inform us immediately. All payments should be made at the reception desk, please use contactless payment if possible. The coffee shop will be available, all hot drinks will be served in takeaway cups. We will have a small range of pre packed snacks..... sorry everyone no cookies. Please observe social distancing at all times. Although we love to see you all we will need each group to leave before the next one arrives! If you have any questions or you are not sure what the procedures are please ask, a receptionist will be there to help. Please remember to keep your distance when speaking to staff for everyone’s safety. Please be aware that the showers will be closed. We are sorry but we will be unable to keep any lost property so please make sure you keep everything with you. Please do not put clothing or towels on tables or other surfaces and as per regulations do not shake your towels out. Please come with your swimming costume on under your clothes this is referred to as “beach ready”. Please do not enter the building until your session time. But don't worry even under all these new rules we are still the same friendly approachable team you know and love. Learn to swim groups after school lessons Those of you who have paid for the March/April term back at the beginning of March will be able to use your credit either against group lessons or a crash course. People who had previously paid will be given priority booking for crash courses. The price of each half hour lesson will now be £8.50 per child. Lessons must be booked in advance. Lessons will now be booked and paid for in four week blocks. Only one adult will be allowed to accompany swimmers. If you can go home in a towelling robe please do, changing rooms are available but kept to minimal use. Children will be taught from poolside, the teacher will not be able to get into the water except in emergencies therefore if your child is unable to stand in the shallow end of the pool (i.e.. they need to be 0.9 m in height or taller) for beginner classes they will need to wear secure arm bands which can be purchased from us, please allow time for ordering before your lessons begin. We are very sorry but we cannot accept other aids such as inflatable rings, vests, belts and neck rings etc. Please note we cannot lend goggles etc. or help your child with adjusting them any more. Accompanying adults are still welcome to watch but this will be from a small designated space by the pool entrance. In order to maintain social distancing not everyone will be able to watch the entire lesson. Please be considerate and share viewing with a one in one out policy.
